Music and a video from the Missouri Repertory Theatre’s 1988 production of Eugene O’Neill’s The Emperor Jones, George Keathley directing. The music was recorded in City Spark Studios by members of the band BCR (Black Crack Revue). I invite you to check out some of the individual selections from the production, as well as the music set to some of the Rep’s production pictures from that show. In the video, I don’t attempt to tell the story of the play, but rather showing images that correspond to a medley from the original score.

Audio buffs may delight to know this was recorded ‘old school’ to multitrack tape, and mixed fully analog (it is 1988!), then mastered to the Ampex ATR-102. No fingers were severed with the audio edits to this score.
